Deal volume and front gross eased from May, but F&I PVR and total F&I income per dealer reached record June levels in the dataset.

June’s results initially look like a step back from May.

Deal volume, F&I PVR, and average monthly F&I income per dealer all declined during the month. Yet volume and F&I PVR remained above their year-ago levels, helping monthly F&I income reach a new June high.

The historical comparison shows that June 2026 remained on a familiar trajectory. Deal volume, F&I PVR and monthly F&I income have each declined from May to June every year since 2023. This year’s results also landed well ahead of June 2025, producing the highest June F&I PVR and average monthly F&I income in the StoneEagleDATA dataset.

This insight comes directly from StoneEagleDATA’s latest report, powered by transaction-level data representing over 50% of the automotive retail market. StoneEagleDATA delivers The Complete Picture of how sales conditions and F&I execution shape dealership profitability.

June’s Complete Picture

Average deals per dealer declined from 116 in May to 110 in June, a 5.17% decrease. That pullback was less severe than the May-to-June declines recorded in 2024 and 2025, at 10.87% and 8.69%, respectively. It was closer to the 4.15% decline recorded in 2023 and left June volume 3.77% above its year-ago level.

F&I PVR followed a similar trajectory. It declined from May to June for the fourth consecutive year, although the size of those declines has varied. This year’s month-over-month decline was 1.34%, from $2,012 to $1,985.

Even with that pullback, June’s average was up 2.90% year over year and represented the highest June F&I PVR in the dataset. For comparison, June PVR averaged $1,927 in 2022, $1,833 in 2023, $1,781 in 2024, and $1,929 in 2025.

Products per deal declined from 1.56 in May to 1.53 in June. That movement also fits the recent pattern. Products per deal were unchanged from May to June in 2023 but declined in each of the following three years.

Product penetration remained largely stable. Service contract penetration declined one percentage point from May to 44%, while prepaid maintenance declined one point to 16%. GAP, paint-and-fabric protection, and tire and wheel were unchanged.

The combination of stronger year-over-year volume and higher F&I PVR lifted average monthly F&I income per dealer 6.71% year over year to $219,151, the highest June result in the dataset.

That record came even as monthly F&I income followed its recent seasonal pattern, declining 5.74% from $232,485 in May. The pullback was considerably smaller than the 11.41% decrease recorded in 2024 and the 9.48% decline in 2025.

Front-end gross tells a different story. It declined 4.14% from $555 in May to $532 per deal and remained 23.67% below June 2025. That weakness more than offset the year-over-year increase in F&I PVR.

As a result, total gross per deal declined 1.99% from $2,568 in May to $2,517 in June. It was also 4.11% below its June 2025 level.

Total gross has now declined from May to June in each of the last four years. Unlike F&I PVR and monthly F&I income, however, June 2026 total gross remained below the June results recorded in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Together, the results reveal a June that followed the same general direction as prior years. Deal volume and key per-deal measures eased from May, but the declines did not erase the year-over-year gains in F&I PVR, deal volume or average monthly F&I income.
